Our annual clay shoot honors a beloved young marksman while raising funds to support the next generation of youth shooting athletes.
Stephen was a long-time member of the Terrebonne Parish Jr Deputy YHEC Team. He won numerous state and national awards in Shotgun, .22 Rifle, Archery, Muzzleloader, and other non-shooting events.
His parents, Stephen & JoAnn, have been Terrebonne Parish Jr Deputy Shooting Team volunteer coaches for over ten years. Stephen was a leader and a mentor to many of the team's younger shooters.
Stephen's parents have given the South Louisiana Youth Shooting Sports Foundation permission to honor Stephen's memory by naming their annual clay shoot in his name. Each year, at the Stephen Louviere II Memorial "Shoot 4 the Kids" clay shoot, we present the Stephen Louviere II Memorial Award to the active YHEC or 4-H Shooting Sports Team Member who shoots the highest score in the Main Event.
It is the most prestigious award any YHEC or 4-H Shooting Team Member can win.
Thanks Stephen & JoAnn for allowing us to honor your son Stephen.
Awarded annually to the highest-scoring active YHEC or 4-H Shooting Sports Team Member in the Main Event. More than a trophy — it's a recognition of the discipline, skill, and sportsmanship Stephen embodied throughout his shooting career.
Whether you're a competitor, sponsor, or supporter, the Shoot 4 the Kids is an event that brings our community together for a meaningful cause.
Shooters from across the region compete for the Stephen Louviere II Memorial Award, the Ron & Jackie Bartels Memorial Award, plus Team and Individual Awards.
Businesses and community members can sponsor stations, prizes, or the event itself. Every dollar funds our youth athletes.
Help run the event by volunteering on the day. Our committee welcomes any helping hands.
